Pratham is an innovative learning organization created to improve the quality of education in India. Established in 1995, Pratham focuses on high-quality, low-cost and replicable interventions to address gaps in the education system.
Working directly with children and youth as well as through large-scale collaborations with government systems, Pratham programs reach millions of lives every year.
In 2005, Pratham launched Pratham Institute, its vocational skilling arm. The objective was to train youth from economically disadvantaged backgrounds (age 18‐25 years) and provide them with employable skills, coupled with access to employment and entrepreneurship opportunities.
YouthNet is a remote learning program aimed to equip learners (age 18-25 years) with vocational and life skills. The program creates an eco-space of collaborative and experiential learning by leveraging a digital infrastructure.
Based on the "Education for Education" model, the program aims to drive a community mission led by Youth who work towards education, environment, health and livelihood.
